The Seven Day Diet Plan
Also known as the All You Can Eat Diet and the Buffet Diet, the 7 Day Diet Plan aims to focus on what you can eat instead of what you cannot eat. It also claims to detoxify the body within seven days. However, even though the name suggests that you can eat anything You Want, you will only be allowed to eat certain foods at specific days. There would be days that you would be permitted to eat as much quantity of a certain food type as you want, though. Also, you should take note that when the seven days are over, you have to resume to your normal eating habits. Staying longer on the 7 Day Diet Plan can pose serious health risks.
What Food Types Can You Eat?
When you go through the 7 Day Diet Plan, you will only be allowed to consume vegetables, fruits, lean meat, and skim milk. You also need to drink at least eight glasses of water per day unless otherwise stated. Do not drink any alcoholic beverages. Using salt is also discouraged, although you can use vinegar, mustard, ketchup, and soy sauce.
The Food Schedule
On Day 1, you can have all the fruits that you want except for bananas. On Day 2, you can have as much vegetables and vegetable soup as you can. You can even use condiments and dip such as hummus, soy sauce, mustard, and ketchup. On Day 3, you can eat all the fruits and vegetables that you like. You can even have salad but not soup. On Day 4, you should consume five apples, five bananas, and five glasses of milk, preferably semi-skimmed milk. You also have to drink at least three glasses of water. On Day 5, you are advised to eat four 3 oz. chicken, beef, or fish steaks with as many fresh vegetables as you want. On Day 6 and Day 7, you should have what you had on Day 5; and that is four 3 oz. chicken, beef, or fish steaks with unlimited servings of fresh vegetables.
Pros and Cons of this Diet
With the 7 Day Diet Plan, you can attain fast results. Thus, it is a pretty good diet if you want to lose weight in a short period of time. Then again, this diet is not nutritionally balanced. So, it should not be taken for more than a week. It is a fad diet that centers on foods with low calories. Much of the weight that you will lose will come from fluids and fats. Once you go back to your usual diet, such weight can easily be regained. In addition, this diet is somewhat restrictive. If you are picky on what you eat, it might be difficult for you to stay on this diet.
Conclusion
While staying on the 7 Day Diet Plan for just a week will not really cause any harm, you should discontinue the diet once you begin to feel dizzy, weak, sick, or fatigued. Your body might not be suitable for this kind of diet. Also, it is not recommended to repeat this diet for at least several months after you have first tried it and also that you consult your doctor to make sure you in the appropriate physical condition for this type of diet.
